Flights are sometimes postponed, but you should not accept that. Official name of the law, which protects air passengers’ rights - Regulations (EC) #261/2004 of the European Parliament and Council of Europe passed on 11 February, 2004. It’s quite a long name, so we call it just EC 261. This EC law obliges airlines to pay passengers compensation for flights cancels and long-time delays and for carriage refusal. Passengers of European flights eligible to EC 261, are authorized to receive compensation up to 600 EUR if a flight delay exceeds 3 hours. Consider that a spoon of honey in the barrel of tar – delay of your flight.
The whole travel may be spoilt due to the flight cancel. Of course, you do not want extra effortd; however, there are some good news: EC laws provide for a passenger monetary compensation in the case of the flight sudden cancel. If airlines notifies you about the flight cancel less than 14 days before the scheduled date of the flight you are eligible to compensation up to 600 EUR for inconveniences done to you. Situation with the flight cancel is not so simple: a number of factors influence on compensation payment and its amount; however we are aware of the whole issue. Thus, you should know if you are eligible to compensation, acquaint yourself with air passengers’ rights and solve the flight problem.
In the case of the missed transfer your rights depend to a great extent from the airlines: from what country or region a carrier fulfills the flight and in what country a carrier is registered. Some European courts interpret the regulation otherwise and do not take in consideration previous similar flights when determining the total distance. In what your cases I am not eligible for compensation?

If the flight was postponed, late or cancelled due to irresistible circumstances (force majeure) or due to reasons, which are not related to activities of a company. For example:

  • Unfavorable weather conditions, natural calamities (for example, eruption of volcano Eifyadlayekudl in Iceland in 2010);
  • Shortages in the airport operation;
  • Terrorist acts or military actions;
  • Trade union strikes;
  • Technical disorder of the aircraft due to the production deficiency.

Amount of a monetary compensation may be curtailed if you agree to accept our compensations offered by a company, for example, a gift coupon or discounts for another flight.

If you have accepted similar compensations from a company you should notify it about that when filling in an application.

In what your cases I am eligible for 50% compensation only?

If the flight was postponed for over 3 hours and a passenger has agreed for another flight a company may cut off amount of compensation by 50%, however, it can do it if only difference between the time when a passenger must have arrived to the site of destination (according to information about a flight bought) and that of the time when he/she actually arrives to  the site of destination, makes up less than 3 hours.

In what countries provisions of Regulations (EC) #261/2004 are valid?

Provisions of the Regulations are valid in all countries of the European Union.

In this case the European Union includes 28 states members of EU as well as Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Reunion, Mayotta, Saint-Martin (French Antilles Islands), Azores islands, Madeira, Canary islands, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland.

In what currency you make money transfer to me?

We make a money transfer in the currency chosen by you to your personal account in the bank chosen by you.

If you wish to receive compensation in the currency other than EUR commission may be charged for a currency conversion.

In what cases Flyhelp charges payment for services rendered?

Fly Help does not collect charges for verification, information services as well in the case if our attempts to restore justice fail. If Fly Help is successful in  restoring justice as a service and a client receives compensation for the cancel or delay of a flight Fly Help is authorized to receive 30% commission fee, which is to be deducted out the compensation amount.
